When Worlds Collide

Hockey Night In Burtt's Corner at Its Best!

The young became old and the old became young in heart, as they join forces to find the meaning of Teamwork in week 5.

Post Game Review
The evening started out tonight with guest speaker Dan Foreman, speaking to the Hockey Night crew about Teamwork at its best. How we should seek to motivate oneanother and be willing to do anything for oneanother, taking the example of our savior. Tonight was a fast night and it seemed that if any night Hockey Night was in God's Glory it was on Tuesday.
When a group of men and women, both young and old can become bonded and blended together in such a unifying and cooperative blend as what the group was Tuesday, thats when fellowship begins to boarder on its best, as God intends us.
Hope we will see you out next week!
Lets Bring the community out to Hockey Night In Burtt's Corner!
Thats the place to be, Tuesday Nights from 6:00pm to 8:35pm.

Your Pepsi Three Stars of the Game
This weeks Pepsi, three stars were close in stature and for the first time, opinion had to bridge the gap in some of these star listings. Really on this night, we were all stars, but lets honor the following:

The Third Star of the game from Team Awesome was a guy who just never slowed down the whole night. He was all over and just like his teammates which were mostly young guys, showed lots of heart on the night. The Third star goes to Brad Underhill with 4(22) goals, 4(17) assists, 8(39) Points, in 8 games played this season.

Second Star of the game which almost never made the list for his first time this season, was our league leader Adam Hanson. On this night he helped run the turbines which were fired by the combination of Christian and Jacob, which was headed most times by Christian from Jacob, or Jacob from Christian in scoring. This was Adams lowest scoring game, but he played well recording 5(37) goals, 7(25) assists, 12(62) points in his 8th game of the year.

Then finally, our First Star of the game, who was honored on this night. Seems fitting that this was a special evening for this individual and he totally upped his game to show his growing experience. On this night Jacob Ebbett, "got a little Older" and played a fast paced game to have one of his best nights of the year. I noted on this evening Jacob really limited his floor time, which was fitting of a team leader, looking to his teammates to play part. But when he was on the floor, he seemed invincible scoring 5(17) goals, 8(17) assists, 13(34) points in his 8th game.

This was quite an evening and we invite you out to the fun next week... stay posted on the day of our next meeting. Could be Tuesday, could be Wednesday?
Check the blog everyday and the post will be up soon!
Thanks and God Bless!

Suprise Transitions made for this coming Hockey Night

Surprise, Surprise!
As many of you know, Hockey night was cancelled last week due to prom night and we would like to extend a belated congradulations to our grads. Hockey Night will resume at its usual time, this coming Tuesday, June 26th as there will be big things going down on this night and we hope you will be back out to play.
The invitation is always out there as well to those who wish to bring along friends to play or to just watch. Hockey Night will be soon moving to another day, but with the new day, may be other transitions following, which would be accomodated well, by those you have come and play.
Things have been a bit bumpy over the last couple of weeks with things, but it is my prayer that we may find a peace among eachother that allows each person unity with eachother. I believe that unity may be the answer to much of what Hockey Night is missing at the moment and I think we have the potential to have that unity, to be a Team and be servants truly for God, influencing oneanother in a positive sense.
See you all Tuesday!

Hockey Night Cancelled for Prom Night

Prom Night In Burtt's Corner
Hockey Night In Burtt's Corner has been great so far, but when all this prom stuff is over, thats when the fun will really begin. The question was, where to be this Tuesday night and by a show of hands, the clear indication was at the prom.
Oh yeah! If its your turn to wear the pink tux, wish you the best fun on this night.
Because there will be a minimal number of interest on this evening, we will not be meeting for Hockey Night In Burtt's Corner, so please spread the word and make sure to tell people to check the blog, which they obviously did if they knew Hockey Night was cancelled.
Anyway, no Hockey Tonight... see you at the Prom!
or if your not at the prom, I guess if your like me, you will be chilling in front of the Television, writing a sermon or playing video games!

P.S. On the post below is a voting pole, make sure to cast your vote and the results will be in the Next Hockey Night Bulletin.

Appearance of the Oldstars Questionable?

Lily looks very unhappy while her mother smiles, as the OldStars take two... furthering their record.
Big Topics
As the evening began and people were showing up for Hockey night, it seemed that there was only one Old Star who dared show up, with Dan Foreman out of the lineup. Noting this reality, Youngsters leader Christian Haines lean over and said, "will the Old Stars show up on this night." That was a question, which seemed close to my mind as the message was almost complete. Steadily one by one the Oldstars showed up and led by Darrell Haines in goal and Adam Hanson's contributions offensively, the team shelled over 60 shots at Lucas Brown to show up in Game 1. This was only a preview of Game 2, when the Oldstars would switch net minders and defeat the youngsters again by a number of goal, making the youngsters look let down in the early goings of the game. Tonight was a night the Old Stars truly showed up and Christian Haines running into the "Wall" that is his brother, as he (Christian) left his feet, was an indication of the Oldstars strength... As the youngsters gave it all, but that wall still stood, while they were on the ground.
Maybe next week!
Critical Things to Note
Coming to the serious side of this post, please comment if you are willing to volunteer to help clean up. Each night the stressload just gets dumped, in order to leave the Gym on time. If there must be interaction afterward, please if you are able, give a helping hand to remove everything that must be removed and put things back as they were afterward. I pray this will not be a problem and appreciate greatly those who have already given their help, those individuals know who they are and Thank you!
Pepsi Three Stars of the Game

3rd Star of the game from the Old Stars Troy Riddicker. Troy not only played excellent Defense and is our first defensive player to make the list this year, but he also put himself up there in scoring tonight. Troy played both ways all night, bringing his deserving totals to 15 goals, 10 assists, 25 points in 6 games.

2nd Star from the Oldstars Jesse Huchinson. Jesse upped his game big tonight, playing the puck forward to others and shooting on net himself and he almost took Adam Hanson for first star of the game, which is a give away of first star. Jesse now has 10 goals, 21 assists, 31 points on the season in his 6 games playing.

1st Star and you guessed it, certainly not debatable, but Adam Hanson. Seems that Adam just knows where to be and when he has no clue where he is and gets the ball, he puts himself in the position to be where he has to be... if he cannot get there, he will pass. Tonight is a milestone evening in Hockey Night In Burtt's Corner as not only does Adam Hanson total Murray Spencers records for most season points, but also Graham Crandall's record for most goals as well. Can this guy be stopped? He has 32 Goals, 19 Assists, 51 Points in 6 games... Perhaps MVP Material? No?

What changes need made, before its too late?
The youngsters have made much improvement, which is evident... although their numbers are still low. Only two people on their team our almost close to the top of the league leaders. Is there anything to work on, or should the youngsters admit to defeat? Vote your input... maybe it will be helpful.

How can the Yougsters, move to the next level?

Old News In Week Two

Dan Foreman goaltender for the Oldstars on this night, added to his statistics big time in week 2.

Pepsi Three Stars of the Game

1st star of the game posted 25 saves, allowing 3 goals in Game one, which essentially approved his being star of the game. He played excellently on this evening, yet his defense was shoveling his rebounds out of the zone. Him and his defensive core (mainly Joey), combined to keep the ball from the net on many occasions. Dan Foreman is our first star as he holds 90 saves, 6 Assists, 15 Goals Allowed... in a mere 4 games, which is highly exceptional in floor hockey.

2nd Star of the game, did not play the same as last game... but he was still holding up the Oldstars the entire game. He has broken Hockey Night records in only 4 games. The game play of this man is amazing and he is clearly the standout player of the Oldstars. Now with 18 Goals, 13 Assists and 31 points... he has shown why he is playing it oldschool. Adam Hanson is our second star as he is leading the league in points and goals, yet has still made only a couple penalty box appearances, which is rare for the leading goal scorer.

3rd Star was the toughest to pick especially since the statistics were so close in the race for third star. The main thing that helped the decision easy in this case was that one of the two eligible third stars were a rookie in Hockey Night In Burtt's Corner. Both people played for the Oldstars and thats what made the call difficult. Nonetheless, Third star of the game earned his spot on this list, posting 6 goals, 6 assists in both games tonight. Brad Underhill who is eligible for Rookie of the year, is our third star... as his statistics advance to 12 Goals, 9 Assists, 21 Points on the summer.
Brad has impressed people in his short time playing thats for sure... as he is even in the runnings for the Season MVP, along with various other awards.

This was an excellent night of Hockey guys. I believe truthfully that Hockey Night In Burtt's Corner knows what it means to have TRUE FELLOWSHIP and its as the early Church did, they added to their numbers daily. Tonight including spectators there were 29 people in attendace, which is a Hockey Night High and for that tonight you are all stars. There is joy in having people come and share in the fun that we are able to have. Thanks for coming out, see you all next week!

Looking forward to Tuesday

Things have really been busy since we have got underway with Hockey Night this year. God has truly blessed us though, in light of all inconveniences. Last year we never started playing until July and here we are entering June and this coming week we will be doing our second evening of Hockey Night.
I really hope you can all make it out on time. Looking forward a lot to this week, because this weeks goal is to define the essence and meaning of what Hockey Night means. Hope you will show up on this night and lay back and enjoy yourselves, and the awesome oppurtunity this evening gives us to serve the Lord.
Should be an awesome night and hope we will see you all there. Spread the word, because the word is good and is definetly the defining playbook of life.
See you Tuesday at 6:00pm as we jump into the word for the first time of the summer and enjoy this great fellowship in the name of the Lord.
See you all there!
